Amid the recent press about our new Mobile Data Center (MDC) product, and our first demo unit making the rounds of several shows and events, we asked our team responsible for this newest WWT data center offering to discuss its history and their vision for the future of such solutions.

While numerous individuals have participated in building WWT’s MDC program, Chris Black, director of federal solutions engineering, along with Matt Long, who handles business development for the MDC line, and Jon Irwin, lead technical architect in support of the MDC, comprise the core team supporting MDC product development and management.

WWT’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a place where customers and partners can stand up small-scale versions of prospective solutions, review product demonstrations, evaluate reference architectures and participate in hands on training classes. Recently we stepped up our investment in the ATC, bringing on an operations manager with 15 years of IT management experience, Mark Dougherty. Mark works with a core team running the ATC, which is complemented by an eco-system of WWT pre-sales engineers and technical architects with specific expertise in subjects ranging from data center design, core networking, cloud infrastructure, virtualization and collaboration.

Geek Day is rocking into action for 2011 and its time for you to register for your backstage pass.

Geek Day is one of the nation’s premier technology events focused exclusively on virtualization and data center solutions. This year’s event will feature a packed agenda filled with innovative technologies, interesting and informative breakout sessions and multiple hands-on learning labs.

There are three main components to this free event to qualified attendees:

1. The Networking - Geeks are better in numbers, when ideas and dialogue flow.
2. The Breakouts – Geek Day sponsors are invited, based on merit, to conduct 50-minute breakout sessions.
3. The Lab – Each solution has a fully functioning demonstration.

Congratulations to our sales team for a great 2010!  We just wrapped-up our annual 2011 National Sales Meeting (NSM) held this year in sunny Phoenix.  It was a fantastic event that included our entire field sales and pre-sales teams.  We also appreciated having many of our partners attend, especially Cisco, HP, EMC and NetApp.
