As summer solstice marks the northern hemisphere’s furthest tilt toward the sun, I’d like to take a moment and announce a high point in World Wide Technology’s progress toward establishing itself as a leader in cloud IT delivery models.
Last week, our company received Cloud Builder Certification from Cisco, which is a new designation the networking leader announced at its Partner Summit in New Orleans, this past spring. (Cisco PR: Cisco Helps Channel Partners Evolve With Cloud Partner Program and Collaborative Professional Services)
The Cloud Builder certification from Cisco formally validates WWT’s competency in three areas of building clouds:
• Infrastructure
• Management Application
• Cloud Professional Services
Qualifications for WWT’s proficiency in this emerging technology area include multi-vendor data center and cloud management accreditations from Cisco, EMC, NetApp, and VMware. The Cisco certification assures customers that WWT is qualified to design and implement cloud-ready infrastructure, or fully provision private and public clouds.
Being recognized as a “cloud builder” reinforces World Wide’s commitment and investment to this evolving, multi-disciplinary area within the data center space.
In a prior post, I explained WWT’s cloud strategy in more detail, beginning with some background on WWT, and offering basic “cloud” definitions. WWT’s direction of combining expertise in virtualization, compute, storage, networking and facilities in order to develop a strong foundation for cloud service delivery receives a stamp of approval with the recent certification.
We look forward to employing our team’s cumulative abilities to support customer initiatives in cloud delivery.
